…I’m sure it was around here somewhere…

…And there was light!

My goodness it’s dusty in here!  Let’s whip the covers off the furniture, throw open the shutters, let some light in and get this place aired out!

Look at the cobwebs!

Well, here we are again.  Five months and two days since the last entry.

I know that many of our regular readers (…well, both of you…) have been wondering just what’s been happening down at LEAF.

Had we shut down?  Had the awful government cuts finally bitten just a little too hard, and our happy band of brothers and sisters (…and cat…) been forced to shut LEAF down?

Well, thankfully, the answer is a resounding ‘NO!’

Yes, the cuts have bitten hard, but I’m more than happy to say that we haven’t been shut down.

From now on, it’s business as usual!

‘So why the long silence?’  You shout.

Ah, Dear Reader, I have but a thousand words maximum per entry and it would take a factor of ten more than that to fully explain the long, dark and cold quiet that had descended.  Let’s just suffice to say that all that rubbish (…That’s the ‘polite’ term for it…) is now fully out of the way, and LEAF WILL continue to go from strength to strength.

Yesterday we celebrated Bonfire Night early with a roaring fire, loads of volunteers, loads of perfectly prepared baked potatoes with fillings and gallons of Plot Tea (…Tea with attitude…).A roaring fire by which to see and cook.

So, apart from the fate of poor Mr Fawkes, what else were we celebrating?

Well, Dear Reader, Diane has worked tirelessly over these last few months, and despite overwhelming odds has managed to secure us funding from quite a few different sources that will mean LEAF can continue to provide its unique services to the Good People of Southey and beyond.

In the coming days and weeks, I’ll be outlining them and hopefully giving more details as we go along.

Let’s just say that once we get this truly awful year out of the way, there’s going to be big, huge stuff happening at LEAF involving growing, cooking, bees, and all other manner of exciting, fun stuff.

Watch this space for more details!
